Visit the Esplanade, where you can browse through the handicraft
stalls that sell items ranging from wooden key chains to rattan
baskets and mengkuang (local screw pine) leaf products.
Drive through Glutton's Corner and proceed for dinner either at the Portuguese Settlement, Nyonya Restaurants or at a Chinese Restaurants. After dinner, we will visit a local food centre before we proceed to
Light & Sound Spectacular Show, the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia. |

AN EVENING WITH THE MELAKA CHITTY

Upon arrival, visit the Chitty Museum to see some rare ceremonial artifacts on display. Next, proceed
to the village observes the Chitty community. In the heart of the village stands the 200
- years old Datuk Chachar (Sri Muthu Mariaman Temple) where
you can witness a pooja (prayer ceremony) conducted by the village priest and
also learn about the ancient Hindu religion of the Chittys.
You'll have an opportunity to enter a Chitty traditional house
and participate in making garlands followed by a 'sarong-wearing' demonstration. Watch an exhilarating Indian classical dance performance (Bharathiya Natiyam) and finally, savour some local home-cooked Chitty cakes and tea. |

Light and Sound spectacular Show

The best way to learn about the history of Melaka. The Light and Sound Show at
Dataran Pahlawan, Bandar Hilir is the first of its kind in Southeast
Asia. It is similar to other projects namely the Eqyptian Pyramids at
Giza, the Acropolis at Athens and the Red Ford at Delhi. Significant events
on Melaka's history are re-enacted by means of light, narration, dialogue,
music and drama. It is highly educational and entertaining. Visitors to Melaka should attend the show to understand the
history of Melaka. |
